Hello.
I have not been here in a while. Im looking forward to my trip to Macedonia. I will be Skopje on Saturday 28th September for two days, arriving on overnight train from Belgrade. Does anyone know if this train carries sleeping coaches or couchettes. We were hoping to make the Bitola train if it is loco hauled, but it seems to be a Dmu these days.
We are hoping to see low nose 661-408 or 410 on a train.

You should host them somewhere first

For small amounts of photos I use these free hosting sites:
http://imgur.com/
http://tinypic.com/

They don't require registration and they are malware free.

I think that it's interesting idea to upload some photos from locomotives and DMU from your country. Of course, we are waiting you in September .

Beano, I suggest you to contact some member of this forum before your next trip to Macedonia
and make a deal to meet each other in Skopje.

You will increase your chance to see much more of MZ if you have a tour-guide
who will provide you assistance and info about "what and where" in Macedonia.

Bojan and Gjoko
Thank you very much for the information.
It is good that they are still making repairs to 661 locomotive. I like the low nose 408/410 but have not seen them yet. hopefully the will fix 404 and i will see them on my next trip.

Maybe Zookisk and Tomo441 will have something to add in my text, but I think that this list is almost complete:
Diesel locomotives 661:
661-144 (this one should be reconstructed)
661-146
661-219
661-220
661-221 (this one should be reconstructed)
661-223
661-234
661-235
661-236
661-238
661-404 (this one should be reconstructed)
661-408
661-410

Right now, only trains to Kicevo are `regular` trains - have a locomotive with passenger cars. On other railway lines(Bitola and Kocani) usually drives DMU.

For electric locomotives, I don't know the hole list, but I am almost sure that this locomotives now drives: 462-001, 461-002, 442-001, 442-002, 441-754, 441-755...

Thank you for replying so fast. I was just looking at the electric locomotives section and i seen 441-755 looking very good.
I see 661-236 got a new power unit. I traveled with that loco to Bitola after 234 failed leaving Bogamila. We waited 3 hours for 236 to come to assist us, but it added to the fun of the day as we got some photos of both locomotives then had a beautiful dinner and beer when we arrived in Bitola. I really like the 661s as they sound similar to the locomotives (141 class) we had here in Ireland until a few years ago.
The railways in Ireland have changed so much in the last 5-8 years. Plastic Railcars DMUs everywhere.
Thanks again for your reply

Hello
This is my first post.
I had a short visit to Macedonia about 2 years ago. I traveled from Skopje to Bitola and Kicevo with 661 locomotives.I really enjoyed my short visit and i hope to return very soon.
Does any person know which locomotives both diesel and electric are still working today, and which 661 locomotives were cut-up (scrapped)at Skopje depot last year. I think 147 and 239 were scrapped.
Also will 661-237 be repaired.
Best wishes from Ireland.

Владимир известува дека е направен ремонт на моторот на 661-236 и успешно тестиран
